How to Take Advantage of Winter Rides

Friday, February 28 2014 by Editor
Riding can be frustrating in the winter weather. Poor riding conditions like frozen footing or brutally cold temperatures can make rides unpleasant and limit the amount of work that we can do with our horses. Whether or not you are lucky enough to have a barn with an indoor arena , it is important to take advantage of all of the saddle time that you can get during the winter.

Overnight you could hear the water coursing though the downspouts and when the power went out just about 5:55 A.M., then back on again, the chime of my iPhone woke me up.

Preparing for Foaling Season

Friday, January 31 2014 by Editor
Foaling season is already right around the corner. If you have mares who are expecting foals this year, it is time to start preparing to make sure that you’re ready when the foals arrive. Communicate with Your Vet If you haven’t done so already, make sure that your vet knows your mare’s expected delivery date, and that you may be needing assistance around that time.

The Right-Sized Barn

Tuesday, January 28 2014 by Editor
A good design is one that uses materials wisely and space efficiently. If you’re building a barn , take a Goldilocks approach: it shouldn’t be too big or too small. But how do you know what is just right?
