He earned both his USDF Silver Medal and USDF Gold Medal on just two PRE (Spanish) horses in one season. He also swept the state dressage association awards.

1988 Eclipse Champion Sunshine Forever, Dead at 29

GEORGETOWN, KY – JANUARY 7, 2014 – Sunshine Forever, the 1988 Eclipse Award Turf Champion, died January 7 at Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement farm in Georgetown, KY. The 29-year-old stallion was discovered in his paddock at dawn today and a necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

For several years GGT-Footing has been installed in the fine equestrian sand at the Kentucky Horse Park. The TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program, launched in 2012 to promote second careers for retired Thoroughbred racehorses, will feature classes throughout the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival. The TAKE2 program highlights the success of Thoroughbreds in the show ring and rewards those who compete on Thoroughbred hunters and jumpers with prize money and awards in restricted classes. TAKE2 classes were offered at 50 “A”- and “AA”-rated horse shows in 17 states in 2013 and presented high-point awards to the nation’s top competitors.

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma —The 2013 North American Stallion Testing will go down in the record books as one of the largest, and most challenging, since Silver Creek Farms began hosting and producing the event seven years ago at their top-notch facility outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
